The UK Police Memorial is a project of major national significance that will commemorate and remember those police officers and police staff who have been killed and died on duty. Over the last three years we have raised over £3.6million of our £4.5million target. The majority of the money has been raised from the Government, businesses, the public and Police service. We are particularly grateful to some of the 43 Police force Federation Branch Boards for their donations of almost £250,000.
We are disappointed that despite protracted discussions with the national Police Federation of England and Wales that no donation has yet been made.
We will continue to work with the Chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales and the National Board to try to identify ways of how they can financially support this project, which is of major importance to the families and colleagues of those officers who have been killed and died on duty and will bring considerable benefit to the Police service as a whole.
The Police Arboretum Memorial Trust is determined to deliver this project so that the sacrifice made by the brave men and women from our Police service can be acknowledged and recognised.
